Hey, do you remember me? As you have probably noticed it has been extremely quiet over here on my blog and also on my social media. So I wanted to take this moment and update you on what has been going on and why I have been so absent lately.
In September I started this blog, I was really happy and I still am, but for some reason, I got into one of the biggest blogging slumps. At least on this blog, because as you may know I also have a bookblog. And that might be one of the reasons that I have been so absent here. I’ve been putting a lot of time into my bookblog Oh My Book. I blogged in Dutch at ohmybook.nl, which I have been doing for years, but recently I’ve decided to start blogging in English. I actually created a new blog, ohmybookblog.com, with a new design and everything and made that step to go English. It just felt really good, but because I have been putting so much time into that, my mind was kind of empty on what content I could create over here. Which I hate because in the ideal situation I’ve got equally as much time and inspiration for both blogs. Reality turns out to be different though.
So, what now? Well, I love this blog, and I love to have this little place on which I can just blurt out my thoughts and write about things that I really love. I am going to try hard to get back on track. I’ve got some fresh new blogpost ideas, so it should be OK. I don’t know how much content I can create in the next couple weeks, it being Christmas and New Year’s and all, but if I can’t I will definitely be back in 2018! I’m not going to say that I’m going to post each day or every other day or whatever. I still am going to post whenever I feel like it. I just don’t want to feel the pressure of having to post on a certain schedule, because I know from experience that the quality of my content will go down from that.
What have I been doing in my absence here? Like I said, I’ve been quite busy with Oh My Book, but I’ve also really been enjoying the Christmas period. I got excited for Christmas pretty early on. Bought my first decorations in September I think. Crazy right? But you know I just really love Christmas. So the last couple of months have been great. I’ve been decorating, visiting garden centres, buying Christmas stuff, listening to Christmas music, watching a bunch of Christmas films etc. etc. I could go on forever! Also, I’m really enjoying watching people’s Vlogmas, most of all Zoella’s one, she is just the queen of Christmas! Though I have to say, my sub box is getting very very full of Vlogmas videos. There’s no way I can keep up with all of them and watch them before Christmas. Oh well, I can still watch them afterwards right?! Or, save them for next year to watch in November when I’m already super excited for Christmas but there’s no Vlogmas yet. I’ve actually been watching back old Vlogmas video’s from Zoella this year in November…
Now that we’re talking about Christmas, I’ve seen some great new Christmas films this year. On Netflix, there are two new original ones, A Christmas Prince and Christmas Inheritance. Both are cliché and the storylines are everything but original, but they are cute and nice and Christmassy and I definitely recommend watching them! Also, I went to the cinema last week to see Bad Moms Christmas. This is a crazy and hilarious movie that I’d recommend as well. I would say it’s in the style of The Hangover and Bridesmaids, but then way better and Christmassy. Loved it!
I guess that’s it for now, I think there will be a couple of new posts up in the coming weeks, and then in 2018, I’m back for real! You can follow me on Instagram as well, where I’ll probably be sharing loads of Christmassy pictures. For now, I really want to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a great new year. It’s so crazy to me that it’s only a couple of days till all the festivities kick off. I’ve been looking forward to the Christmas period for months and now I feel like it’s flown past so so quickly. So I’m going to try and enjoy these last days as much as I can!
